Big Muscles First

Remember big muscle groups first, secondary muscle groups second and last should be your stabilizer muscles. If you fatigue your stabilizer muscles first then you'll be more prone to injury using the barbell for larger muscle groups. Hence why you don't do abs at a beginning of an exercise. Biggest muscle groups should be used first to get most bang for your buck otherwise you'll limit them to the capabilities of your stabilizer muscles. A saying that my high school weight lifting coach always use to say was, “You don’t want to be just the icing on the cake, you want to be the whole cake.”
